Jonak

Jonak tea qualities are produced on the Sonarie Tea Estate, located in the Sibsagar district. "Jonak" means "Assam's moonlight" in the local language. The history of these tea gardens can be traced back to 1874. Tea bushes thrive on a chain of hills known as "tillas"; these confer a pronounced, malty aroma and an exciting taste on this tea. Our quality, with a medium-large leaf and some golden tips, surprises with a pleasant malty spiciness, round in state, and is, therefore, also a treat without milk and sugar.
